The Complex is located conveniently off of Interstate 90. Exit Interstate 90 at E. Riverside Blvd and head East. You will see the Complex to your left at the intersection of E. Riverside Blvd. and Winnebago Ln.
Is parking available on site, and if so, is it free or what does it cost?
Parking is available on-site for free. Please look for parking in the sports center parking lot before looking to the outlying lots.
What are the closest hotels?
For more options, please visit www.gorockford.com/visitors/hotels
What food options are available?
The Complex does NOT allow outside food or drink. There is an onsite restaurant and bar where food and beverage will be available. Aside from the onsite concessions, there are several fast food or sit down restaurants in the immediate area
What is the layout of the convention?
The convention map will be available in the program onsite.
When will dealer packets be available?
On or before June 1st.
What is the cost of admission to the convention?
Pricing can be found here on What-Khan's Home page.
What is the cost for playing games?
Unlike other conventions, What-Khan does not charge you to play the individual games. The only game registration cost you may face would be to participate in a tournament or other games listed on the tournament registration page and those fees go toward prize support. So, after you purchase your badge to the Convention, you can enjoy all the gaming your time will allow at no additional fee.
What is the setup time alloted for GM's?
GM's will have 30 minutes prior to their event for set up unless they request a delayed start with their event registration. Additionally, please keep in mind that GM's have 30 minutes to clean up after a game. To be considerate to GM's following you on your table, please be sure to end your game early if you need more than 30 minutes of clean up time.
How do I sign up for a game?
With the exception of the Tournaments, there is NOT sign up for playing games PRIOR to the start of the convention. To reserve a seat in a game, once on-site, head to the Games Sign-up area. Each game has a sheet, but please, only sign up for one game per time slot. If the game is full, please choose a different game or talk to one of the convention staff. If a game you are signed up for has been cancelled, please see a staff member and we will try to get you into a different game for that time period. !!Please note: Pathfinder Society Games have a separate registration process from What-Khan and will need you to register through their website Warhorn for both the convention and the games you wish to play or GM.!!
What is the process for unloading of Dealers for setup (and reloading for clean up)?
When Dealers arrive, they are asked to check in with the Reception Desk to receive their packets. Immediately following, you will be asked to pull up to the rolling loading door where Convention Volunteers (aka Minions) will provide as much assistance as you desire in unloading your stock to your space. At close of the convention, 'Minions' will once again be made available to help you pack out. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding during this process.
What is the process for unloading of Auction items or GM materials?
There is usually a dolly or two for use near the Registration Desk. Please be considerate and return it to the location for others to use as soon as possible. 'Minions' have also been known to assist from time to time.
Is there on-site storage for GM materials?
There is NO secure on-site storage for GM or Player materials. If you leave items after closing, please note you do so at your own risk.
Is there space for Open Gaming?
As the Convention gets up and rolling Friday there will be open gaming from 2 - 6 PM. In all official gaming slots, there may be space for open gaming. Please check in with the Convention Staff at the event sign up table to ask about open tables for a specific time slot.
What if I have to cancel my preregistration?
What-Khan understands that sometimes life happens and you may not be able to attend as originally planned. If this occurs, please contact Registration at registration(at)what-khan.com and let us know that you need to cancel preregistration. If notified 30days before the first day of the convention, we are happy to refund your preregistration costs via PayPal, minus transaction fees. After that date, we regret that we are unable to provide refunds. Thank you for your understanding.
Is there an entry cost for children?
Children under the age of 12 years old get into the convention free with an adult. Please note the children's name(s) attending with you on the pre-registration form so that we can have a badge prepared for them. If children are participating in an event with a fee, such as a tournament, they have equal stake in the prize and therefore must pay the event specific fee and reserve a space.
Do I need to purchase a badge to observe and/or shop at the Dealers?
Yes, a badge is required to access any aspect of the convention. In an effort to minimize what we ask of our hard-working judges, we do not offer any special badge types to allow for observation or shopping only. This frees our staff and our judges from being in the uncomfortable position of asking a guest to leave a game due to an incorrect badge type. Your badge is your all-access pass to the convention and its activities.
